About The Community Centre

Outside Entrance

A Brief History

The community centre is located just behind Sennen Junior School, was built in 1977 as a Manpower Services Jubilee project which was funded by the Charity Commission, the former Penwith District Council, Sennen Parish Council and with fundraising from the association.
Today it plays an important role within the village of Sennen and wider communities by providing a large facility for the residents of Sennen and its visitors to meet up and socialise, whether that be at our weekly farmers market, during a social event, or whilst participating in a wide range of activities that can be held at the hall.
The community centre is run by a group of volunteers who work hard to keep the venue updated and available for hire all year round. Our goal is to make the venue as accessible and easy to use for as many people as possible, young and old. We are a registered charity (charity number 277628)

Amenities

The community centre has the following amenities:

Accessibility
The community currently has a portable accessibility ramp to make access into the venue easier for wheelchair users, we hope to make this a permanent fixture in the very near future. The hall also has a purpose build accessibility toilet just inside of the main door for easy access. There is also a baby changing facility in the toilet too.

Outside

There’s lots to do outside of the venue too, with several spaces for kids and adults to enjoy. So when you’re inside the venue your kids can enjoy letting off steam outside. Please note these outside areas are only available out of school times.

Parking

Directly outside the entrance we have a large carpark which has parking for approximately 40 cars. At this time there are no dedicated disabled parking spots but we hope to change this in the near future.

Local Area

Sennen is an outstanding area of natural beauty and there is so much to do when you have finished your activity. The walks around the coast are stunning and offer fantastic views of the rugged coastline. Sennen Beach is just a short distance form the community centre and Lands End is Just a mile down the road. We have 2 pubs, The First and Last Inn and The Old Success Inn as well as The Surf Beach Bar who all offer food and drinks.
