SK8PZ - Roller Skating

We are SK8PZ – a community interest company based in Penzance, serving the local community for just under a year. Our roller-skating group formed in 2022, and we know that roller skating as an activity is great for mental, social and physical health and wellbeing as it has very positive effects on the brain and body.
We are set up to take people onboard that haven’t skated before with our trained instructors and 1 to 1 beginners lessons and we offer sessions where the more confident skaters can learn dance moves and skate routines together.
We are DBS checked and have insurance, trained instructors and have child safeguarding policies in place to make the environment as safe as possible for all.
Starting out as a group on Facebook that quickly grew in numbers, we began putting on Silent Disco events at night on the Prom and this was a delight for all to witness and attracted the attention of Penzance council who are now fully onboard and supportive of what we are doing. At the core of what we do is a desire to bring people together that would normally not have had the opportunity to meet and offer roller skating at a cost that is available to each and every one of us within our community. It is one of the best activities for a whole family to engage with. An ‘intergenerational experience’, bringing families closer and allowing our great skate family to forge new friendships.
